CASTLES & HISTORIC HOUSES

Naturally, in an area steeped in such history, there are a number of castles and stately homes that must be visited.

Close to Hexham we have Aydon Castle, Prudhoe Castle and Kielder Castle. The Castles of Belsay and Anick are slightly further a field.

The stately homes of Wallington and Cragside are a pleasant drive away.
