Golfing in Northumberland is a sheer delight, and the Beaumont is just the place to stay.
We are only a couple of minutes drive from Hexham, a very pleasant Parklands Course. Superb greens, tightish fairways and lovely scenery. It also has a wonderful clubhouse, well more a stately home.
A 15 minute drive away is Matfen Hall, a course created in the ground s of a stately home. Pretty long but buggies are available.
Also 15 minutes away is Slaley Hall, my home Club. Two superb courses. The older course, the Hunting, is a true Championship challenge. Water, rough, tight fairways, tricky greens. I have still to tame it ! The Priestman, however, is a different kettle of fish. It is a Championship Course, the home of the Northern Seniors, but it is wider and more forgiving. Wonderful scenery, massive greens, lots of lovely water and nice big fairways. On this course it is possible to say that you have tied with Slaley.
